IBM goes social with Smarter Trends
- New website by IBM seeks to connect public sector workers and city planners
- Website has heavy focus on social media and shareable content
TECHNOLOGY giant IBM has a new website called Smarter Trends, a resource for information and discussions on energy, water and city development.
The United Kingdom (UK)-centric website curates trending articles and discussions from a variety of sources both national and international, across 30 topic areas.
There is also a map feature for those based in the UK to better track domestic news, which enables the reader to click on a location and bring up the current stories connected to that region.
It also makes it extremely easy for users to share content found on the site, with Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and YouTube integration.
According to a report by ITProPortal, IBM says it intends to reach a “sought-after” and “notoriously difficult to reach” audience with the site, as it seeks to create a platform for public sector workers and city planners to communicate and share information.
